This is my second post for today which is surprising since for the last few weeks I have been busy making Christmas cards and decorations for my home and havent had much time to blog.  Anyway, this post is for the Just Add Ink – Bah Humbug Challenge.

For this Challenge I made 2 Christmas Tags and a Petal Cone Christmas Tree.

For the Tags, I used the Two Tags die, Very Vanilla cardstock, Jolly Holiday DSP and some ribbon.  For the images I used the Owl Punch and the Stocking Punch, the Stitched Stocking stampset and the To and From is from one of the stamps from the Gifted stamp set.

It has been a while since I last blogged and I thought I would participate in this weeks Clean and Simple’s sketch challenge.

For this challenge, I started with a base card made from Pacific Point cardstock,  4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.  I then added a layer of brushed silver metallic paper that was 1/4″ smaller than the base card.  Next, I added a layer of Bashful Blue cardstock that was 1/4″ smaller than the brushed silver paper.  I then trimmed a piece of Whisper White cardstock to be the same width as the Bashful Blue cardstock, but not the same length.  I then tore the cardstock.  Using a glue pen, I added glue along the torn edge of the cardstock and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.  I also added some extra glue to make extra snow drifts on the torn cardstock, again using the Dazzling Diamonds.  I then used a snowflake die to cut a snowflake using Whisper White cardstock.  Using one of my Merry Christmas gold stickers, I added a sentiment to the centre of the snowflake.  I then adhered the snowflake to the base card.

I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch.

Paper:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Brushed Silver metallic

For this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge, Just Add a die cut, I decided to use the Scallop Circle die to make Christmas Decorations, which I am going to use for gift vouchers.  The idea comes from a You Tube clip that I viewed made by Angie Kennedy Juda .  I cut out 2 Cherry Cobbler ,  2 Lucky Limeade and 2 Night of Navy scallop circles and then  I used the Scissor Circle Plus to cut out 2 Very Vanilla 4″ Circles and 1 Whisper White 4″ Circle.  With the 6 Scallop Circles, I put 3 aside and the other 3, I cut in half to make voucher pockets to put behind the Scallop Circles.  I then decorated the 4″ circles and before adhering the circles to the base scallop circles, I attached some ribbon in between so I can hang the decorations.  I am going to use these decorations for my children.

Clean and Simple have a new sketch this week. For this sketch I started with a base card made from Early Espresso.  I then added an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock, followed by a piece of Ruby Red textured cardstock.  I then used the top note die to cut out top note in Whisper White and another from the striped Holiday Treasure DSP.  I trimmed the Holiday Treasure DSP and adhered to the Whisper White top note.  I then adhered some Mistletoe Ribbon with stick strip.  I stamped the Joy ornament from the Delightful Decorations stampset using versamark ink on Textured Ruby Red cardstock.  I then punched out the 2 ornaments using the Ornament Punch.  Using a two-way glue pen, I followed the swirls on the punched ornaments and added some gold glitter.  I adhered the ornaments using foam pads and then stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from Contempo Christmas using Ruby Red Ink.  To finished off, I used a Black marker to add the strings for the ornaments.

Just Add Ink #43

Just Add Ink has a new theme challenge this week, Just Add Christmas.  I love to make Christmas Cards and for this challenge I made a card using one of my favourite stamp sets, Lovely as a Tree.  I have made this card once before, but I never got around to blogging it and it was such fun, so decided to make another one for this challenge.  I started with some Bordering Blue textured cardstock.  I trimmed and scored the card to make a stepcard base.  I then trimmed a piece of Whisper White cardstock to be 5mm smaller than the Bordering Blue cardstock.  Before scoring the Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the group of trees from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set into the middle of the card using Bordering Blue ink.  I then stamped 3 pine trees.  The two outer trees I used the rock and roll technique using Bordering Blue as the base and Old Olive for the outer.   For the centre tree I used Old Olive as the base and daubered Bordering Blue randomly on the image before stamping.  I then score the cardstock. Before adhered it to the base card, I trimmed around the top of the three pine trees so that they create a 3D affect.  With some scraps of Whisper White Cardstock, I created some snowdrifts.  On one I stamped the sentiment from the Contempo Christmas stamp set.  I then used the 2 way glue pen to adhere so Dazzling diamonds to the edge of the cutout snowdrift.  I finished off the card by using the 2 way glue pen to add Dazzling Diamonds to the Pine Trees.

Just Add Ink has a new sketch challenge this week.  For this challenge I used the sketch to make a Christmas card for a swap friend who likes the colour orange.  I am not used to using this colour for Christmas Cards, but I think it turned out well.  I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock.  I then adhered a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with a Snowflake embossing folder.  I then trimmed a piece of Peach Parfait Cardstock  and a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  On the piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped Dasher from the Dasher stamp set using Peach Parfait ink.  I then used a sponge dauber to add a little Peach Parfait to the edges of the stamped cardstock.  I adhered the stamped cardstock to the Peach Parfait cardstock and then adhered to the embossed cardstock.  I  punched out an Ornament using the Ornament Punch and a  snowflake using the Boho Flower punch.  I adhered the snowflake to the ornament and then used the double rectangle punch to punch a hole in the centre.   I attached a striped orange ribbon to the embossed cardstock and inserted into the  punched holes of the ornament and tied a knot.  I then adhered the embossed cardstock to the base card and added the sentiment from the Best Yet stamp set.  To finished off, I added Dazzling Diamonds to the sentiment, the snowflakes from Dasher, the area under Dasher and to the snowflake on the ornament.

Stamps: Dasher, Best Yet, Delightful Decorations
Paper: Whisper White, Peach Parfait
Ink:  Peach Parfait

Clean and Simple have a new sketch this week. For this sketch I started with a base card made from Soft Suede cardstock. I then adhered a piece of Whisper White cardstock, followed by a piece of textured Red Cardstock. I stamped two Snowflakes, a Christmas sentiment and a Christmas Ornament from the Delightful Decorations stamp set using Soft Suede ink.  I punched out two of the snowflakes and the Merry Christmas sentiment using the Boho Flower Punch.  I then used the ornament punch to punch out the stamped ornament.  I then inserted red brads into the centre of the two snowflakes and the Merry Christmas sentiment.  I then adhered the punched out ornament, snowflakes and sentiment to the card using foam pads.  I then decided to make another card similar to the first but used a different ornament stamp from the Delightful Decoration stamp set and adhered a rhinestone in the centre of the punched out ornament.
