Clean and Simple have a new sketch this week.  I decided to vary the sketch slightly as the flower I wanted to use was a little bit too big to leave the square in the middle.

Stamps: Happy Moments (retired)

Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Bella Rose DSP(retired
Ink: Black
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Owl Punch (for small dots and circles in the centre of the flower), Devine Swirl embossing folder, Swiss Dot embossing folder

I started with a base card made from Basic Black cardstock and added a layer of Swiss Dot embossed Whisper White cardstock.  I then punched out series of small dots using the Owl Punch.  I adhered the dots around the edge of the embossed cardstock.  With a square piece of Bella Rose DSP, I adhered a piece of Basic Black cardstock  behind it and then adhered it to the base card.  Next, I punched two flowers with the Blossom Punch and two circle using the Owl Punch.  With the black blossom I cut out all the petals so that I could adhere them behind the white blossom.  I embossed the flower using the Devine Swirl Embossing folder.  I added the two circles to the centre of the card and then I cut the petal down to the centre circles.  I then used the Bone Folder to shape the petals.  I adhered the flower to the base card using two dimensional to give it a little extra height.   To finish off the card i added the birthday sentiment from the Happy Moments stampset.

It has been a while since I last blogged and I thought I would participate in this weeks Clean and Simple’s sketch challenge.

For this challenge, I started with a base card made from Pacific Point cardstock,  4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.  I then added a layer of brushed silver metallic paper that was 1/4″ smaller than the base card.  Next, I added a layer of Bashful Blue cardstock that was 1/4″ smaller than the brushed silver paper.  I then trimmed a piece of Whisper White cardstock to be the same width as the Bashful Blue cardstock, but not the same length.  I then tore the cardstock.  Using a glue pen, I added glue along the torn edge of the cardstock and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.  I also added some extra glue to make extra snow drifts on the torn cardstock, again using the Dazzling Diamonds.  I then used a snowflake die to cut a snowflake using Whisper White cardstock.  Using one of my Merry Christmas gold stickers, I added a sentiment to the centre of the snowflake.  I then adhered the snowflake to the base card.

I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch.

I decided to combine this weeks Just Add Ink’s theme challenge, Just Add Baby and Clean and Simple’s sketch challenge.  I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock, to which I added an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock, followed by a strip of Wisteria Wonder.  I then stamped the welcome baby from the Punch Bunch stamp set (retired).  To make the tags, I trimmed around the  stamped image and then adhered it to some Wisteria Wonder cardstock.  I then made a panel out of Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder cardstock to which I mounted the letter B panel and the Welcome baby tag.  I then stamped some images from the Itty Bitty Bits stampset and punched them out with the Itty Bitty Circle Punch.  I finished off by adhering the images with foam pads and added some Itty Bitty circle buttons to Wisteria Wonder strip.

I love the sketch this week at Clean and Simple.  I have been wanting to create cards with Tour de France in mind so I have come up 4 cards for this sketch, one for each jersey.  If you don’t already know, in the Tour there are 4 categories where a cyclist can win a jerseys for each stage of the race and at the end of the event. Yellow which is for the lead of the general classification, Polka Dot which is for the best climber, Green is for the best sprinter and White which is for the best youth in the general classification.

I started with 4 base cards made from Basic Black.  I then added a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to each card.  Next I added a strip that matched each jersey. So for the Yellow Jersey, I used a yellow strip, white for the white Jersey and so on.  I then added pieces of black card stock which had the lower edge punch with the scallop punch.  I then stamped 4 pieces of Very Vanilla card stock with the stamp “way to go” and adhered  them the base cards.  Next I punched out 4 owls and adhered the matching jerseys to them.  I then adhered the completed owls and Paris stamp to the base cards.

I am going to use these cards for my children when they get there next school report.
