Just Add Ink have a colour challenge this week. My son’s birthday will be in the coming week and I thought these colours would be great for the mini clipboard I was going to decorate for him.
Stamps: Extreme Elements, Beware Pirates (retired)
Paper: Garden Green, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Garden Green
Accessories: Mini Clip Board, Notepad, Tombow Glue, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet die, pen
I started with a mini clipboard 12.5 cm x 19.3 cm. I adhered some Early Espresso Cardstock to the mini clipboard with Tombow glue. I then covered a notepad with some Garden Green cardstock. Next, I adhered some Marina Mist cardstock to a notepad that came with the mini clipboard. I stamped some Whisper White cardstock using one of the stamps from the Extreme Elements stamp set, using Marina Mist and Early Espresso Ink. I adhered the stamped Whisper White cardstock to the Marina Mist cardstock that I adhered previously to the Notepad. I stamped one of the stamps from the Beware Pirate stamp set on to a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I flicked the edges of the cardstock along the Marina Mist stamp pad to distress the edges slightly. I then trimmed some Early Espresso to mount behind the Whisper White cardstock and then adhered it to the Notepad. I also trimmed a strip of Marina Mist cardstock to form a loop for the pen and adhered it to the side of the back page of Notepad. This keeps the pen with the notepad. I then clipped the finished notepad to the clipboard. To finish off the clipboard, I adhered some Marina Mist letters for my son’s name. I had cut out the letters using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet die.
There you have my take on this week’s challenge. I now have to make a few more for my son’s friends that he invited to his birthday party next week. I thought they would make nice surprises in the party gift bags. I got the Notepad, Clipboard and pen for $2 dollars at a little shop down in Lilydale.
