Sorry for not blogging in a while. There are times in life when things can get more hectic than others and you stop certain things so that you can have some breathing space. I have been making some cards, but I havent had much time to blog. I was recently told that my father has pancreatic cancer. It was a bit of a shock. My mother passed away from cancer 19 years ago and now to hear that my father has cancer it has really affected me…..
For my first blog in a while I have decided to participate in the Just Add Ink Challenge, Just Add … Mother. Even though my mother passed away many years ago, I always think of her on Mother’s Day. Mothers are very special and are with you always.
I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock. I then trimmed and scored some Pretty In Pink cardstock to be slightly smaller than the face of the card. I set the scored cardstock to one side. I then trimmed some more Pretty In Pink cardstock to be slightly smaller than the centre of the open card. I folded this cardstock in half and then folded the edges inwards in the opposite direction to the centre. I flattened out the cardstock and used one of the Label Collection Framelit Dies to cut out a window in the centre. I then took a piece of regal rose scrap and cut out a smaller Label Collection Framelit Die. I adhered the Regal Rose to the Pretty in Pink Cardstock and then adhered it to the inside of the Whisper White card. Using a Stampamajig I stamped the Thank You stamp from the retired Little Hellos stampset. Using a blender pen I coloured in the flowers and the leaves. I then adhered the scored cardstock to the face of the base card and attached little hearts from the owl punch, as well as flowers from the Blossom punch. I finished the front of the card by adding the wonderful mother sentiment from the Well Scripted stamp set and adding pearls and a small butterfly. Inside the card I added more butterflies and hearts.
There you have my take on this weeks challenge. The idea for the fold came from Beccy Muir website. I was so taken with her card that I decided to case it for my mother’s day card.
