Last week my friend told me that she is going to get married in France. I was so excited for her and to celebrate the occasion I bought a new stamp set, the Magnolia Bride and Bridesmaid stamp set. For her card, I started with a base card 13cm x 13cm made from Whisper White cardstock. I then added a few layers of different cardstock. Next I used the Spellbinder Fleur De Lys die, to punched out a two different sized circles, which I then embossed it with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. I stamped the Magnolia stamp twice and coloured them both in using various inks and a blender pen. I cut out one of the stamped images, to add a little depth bride and the bridesmaid.
For the wedding dress, I used Frosted White Shimmer paint and I added small pearls to form the necklace around the bride’s neck. I punched out a series of flowers to which I made incisions to form petals and added small pearls to the centre. I adhered the flowers to the base card as well adding some small punched out hearts and two embossed Fleur De Lys symbols. I finished off the card by adding ‘Congratulations’ from the Well Scripted stamp set.

This week Just Add Ink have a Black And White theme Challenge. At first I was a little stumped as to what type of card to make for this challenge, but then my husband asked me if I could make a wedding card for his cousin.
I started with a base card that was made from Basic Black card stock. I then added a layer of Whisper White cardstock that I stamped with the En Francais background stamp using Basic Black ink. Next I made a oragami dress which I embossed with the Devine Swirl embossing folder. I then added a thin strip of satin ribbon to the dress and adhered the dress to the base card using foam pads. Next I stamped the words MR & MRS from the basic phrase stamp set and adhered it to the base card with a black mount behind it. I then adhered two black hearts on either side, which I punched out using the Owl Punch.
To completed the card I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the base card and stamped the word Congratulations from the Well Scripted stamp set. To finish off I added 4 black hearts, one in each corner of the card.
Stamps: En Francais, Basic Phrases, Well Scripted
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, white origami paper
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Devine Swirl embossing folder, foam dots, Owl Punch (for small hearts), thin White Satin ribbon

Clean and Simple have a new sketch this week. I thought this Sketch would work really well for a card for my friend in Europe. I started with a base card made from Chocolate Chip cardstock. I then added a layer of embossed Cherry Cobbler, a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and some Cottage Wall DSP. I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the fox stamp from the Fox and Friend stamp set. After stamping the image on to the cardstock, I added a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock behind. I then used a dauber to slightly colour the edges and then adhered to the base card. Next I added the sentiment, “Hi There”.
I will be sending this card to my friend as well as the cooking magazine I promised. It’s a few weeks late so hopefully she wont mind too much.
Stamps: Fox and Friends, Basic Phrases
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Cottage Wall DSP (retired)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Swiss Dot embossing folder, foam dots, sponge dauber

I have a friend at work whose son’s is celebrating a birthday this weekend. I thought I would used this weeks Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge as inspiration for his card. Hopefully my card design hasn’t varied too much from the sketch.
The sketch inspired me to make a Fish Bowl card. It also gave me a chance to make a punch fish. When the ornament punch first came out I remember seeing them, but didn’t get a chance to make one. When I started to make the card, I came across a problem, in the fact that a fish bowl is not completely round, so that is where I varied the sketch slightly. I cut out the Fish Bowl using Whisper White cardstock that was folded over. I then added strip of Basic Black to the top and bottom of the card and used a Basic Black marker to define the sides of the bowl. For the bubbles I used one of the stamps from the French Foliage stamp set and I used the little leaves die to make plants in the bowl. I then made the fish using various punches and adhered the fish to the card using foam pads.
Stamps: French Foliage, Delightful Decorations, SAB Happy Moments (retired)
Paper: Whisper White, Bella Rose (retired), Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Ink: Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Owl Punch (for heart and eyes), Ornament Punch, Sizzix Little Leaves die, I Heart Hearts Punch ( to make fins), Basic Black Marker, foam pads
