Just Add Ink have a new Challenge this week, Fussy Cutting. It took me a little while to think about what I would do for this Challenge and that was a little strange for me as my cards tend to have a lot of fussy cutting. I also wanted my card to be a little bit different so I decided to make a card with pop ups inside. I started with a 13 cm x 13 cm base card which I cut in half to form two 13 x 13cm squares. I then added a layer of DSP that was 12 cm x 24cm to the inside of the 2 13x 13cm cards. Before adhering the DSP, I added a strip of Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. Next I added 3 large scallop die cut outs to the centre of the card, which had two 4cm slits in the middle of each scallop to form a little step. On these small steps I added the sentiments and a cut out cupcake that was coloured in with ink and blender pens. For the front of the card, I added a Very Vanilla layer of cardstock. I then added a cupcake that was built up using layers of DSP, stamped cardstock, scraps of Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler cardstock and foam pads. Next I added a series of small hearts that were punched out using the Owl punch and 3 thin strips of Chocolate Chip cardstock to the outer edges of the card. Next came the sentiment that was punched out using the decorative label punch and was backed with Cherry Cobbler and Chocolate Chip coloured labels. I finished off the card by making a bow in the attached Chocolate Chip ribbon. The ribbon also helps to keep the card closed, so it doesn’t pop open until someone opens it. I hope you like my take on this weeks challenge.
