I have been looking at The Play Date Cafe colour Challenge for the last few days trying to think how I could use the challenge colours. I love the bright colours, but they are not ones that I would normally use together. Then I saw this weeks Clean & Simple Sunday Sketch Challenge and thought that the two challenges would be perfect together. The Challenges inspired me to make a Birthday Card, but I may have used a bit too much white, but I still like what I came up with. I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock. I then added a layer of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, followed by a layer of Swiss Dot embossed Whisper White cardstock. Next, I punched out three scallop squares, 1 in Night Of Navy, 1 in Pumpkin Pie and the last in Pretty in Pink cardstock. I then punched out 3 Whisper White squares using my 1 1/4″ Square Punch. As I needed the squares slightly smaller, I trimmed two sides of the squares to make the squares smaller. Using the SAB Bliss stamp set, I stamped the Butterfly, the bird and the flower. I trimmed the images out and adhered them to the Whisper White Squares, using foam pads for two images and snail adhesive for the bird. I then attached the squares to the Scallop Squares and adhered them to the base card. To finish off the card, I stamped a Birthday sentiment from the Afterthoughts stampset using Night of Navy Ink. I punched out the sentiment using the Square Scallop Punch and adhered it to the base card.
