This week Stampin’ Royalty’s challenge is a Picture Perfect Inspiration Challenge. I love the idea of making a card with pennants and I have also been waiting to make a card with my new owl punch, so I have put the two together to make a birthday card. I started with a base card made from Very Vanilla cardstock. I then added a layer of Concord Crush and Peach Parfait that was punched on the bottom edge with Scallop border punch. Next was a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock that was stamped with the Balloon from the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, which was then embossed with the Swiss Dot embossing folder. I then stamped the same balloon stamp on to a piece of Pear Pizzazz, which I then trimmed and adhered to the stamped image . I stamped a series of hats from the Party Hearty stamp set which I then trimmed and put to one side. To make the penguin, I used the Large Owl punch with Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Summer Sun cardstock. At the top for the pennant I adhered five 1/2″ circles and then adhered the Penguin and the party hats to the card. I finished off the card by stamping the greeting from the Party Hearty stamp set and punch it out with the Scallop circle punch.

While I was making the card for this Challenge my son wanted to make a card for his friend’s birthday this weekend. He watched what I was doing and this is the card that he came up with. I helped him put the birthday sticker on the side, but he did the rest and I like what he made.
