My sister-in-law Anita emailed me the other day and asked why I havent updated my blog for a while so I have created this card for her using the colours from the Just Add Ink Challenge. Just Add Ink have a new challenge this week, where they are asking for a creation that uses the colours displayed above. I started with 2 pieces of kraft cardstock and used the scallop circle bigz die to cut out two large scallop circles. I trimmed a piece of 12cm by 2 1/2 cm strip of kraft to use as part of the stand for the easel card. Using the Circle Scissor Plus, I trimmed two 10cm circles out of Very Vanilla cardstock. On one of the Very Vanilla circles I used the small flower stamp from the Cheap Talk stamp set and stamped around the outer edge using Rose Red Ink. On the other Very Vanilla circle I stamped the branch from the Cheap Talk stampset using Always Artichoke ink and followed this by stamping two flowers from the same set using Rose Red ink. I then stamped one of the birds from this set using Sahara Sand Ink and then I stamped the bird again on a piece of scrap Very Vanilla and a scrap piece of Rose Red cardstock. Using the original image and the two scrap pieces I made up the bird using of combination of the various pieces so that I had a bird with Rose Red wings, tail and beak. I then stamped two more flowers on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Rose Red ink. I punched these flowers out using the large flower from Boho Flower Punch. I trimmed the edges so that you could no longer see any of the Very Vanilla cardstock on the outer edge of the flowers. I stamped the Hello There greeting using Sahara Sand Ink (unfortunately it does not show very well in the photo). I finished off the flowers using small black brads. The flower on the base of the easel card was adhered using a foam pad. Then with a sponge dauber and Always Artichoke Ink, I distressed the outer edge of the main circle with the bird and flowers. I then attached the Very Vanilla circles to the Kraft scallop circles and attached the Kraft strip for the stand to the back of the top circle and the back half of the bottom circle. There you have my Hello There greeting card.
If you haven’t already you should head over to the Helping Hudson blog too and play their challenges.
