The other day I came across another Challenge blog called the City Crafter Challenge Blog. This week their challenge is of city that is dear to my heart, Paris. I went to Paris in the Spring of 2006 and it was everything that everyone has ever said and more. It is such a warm and wonderful place and the architecture and food is simply amazing. For this challenge I used my Cavallini Paris stamp set. I started with a base card made from Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I then trimmed a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock to be slightly smaller than the base card, which I then adhered to the base card. I followed this by trimming a piece of Textured cream cardstock, which I embossed with the Script embossing folder. Using some Chocolate Chip Ink and a sponge dauber I distressed the edges of the embossed textured cream cardstock and adhered to the Chocolate Chip card. Using the Top Note die, I cut out two Top Notes, one out of Cottage Wall DSP and the other out of textured cream cardstock. I trimmed the Top Note in half, one width ways and the other length ways. With the 1/2 Textured Cream Top Note I stamped the image of the Eiffel tower using the Paris stamp set and Chocolate Chip Ink. I distressed the edge of the textured cream cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge dauber. I adhered the two top notes to the embossed Cream Textured cardstock. I stamped some more images from the Paris stamp set using Chocolate Chip Ink, which I trimmed or punched out using either the Scallop square punch or 1″ circle punch. I distressed the edges again using the sponge dauber and Chocolate Chip Ink. I also punched out a 1 1/4″ Rich Razzleberry circle and a using Cottage Wall DSP I punched out a 1 3/8″ Circle and a Square Scallop. I adhered the circles together and attached to the base card with foam pads as well as using foam pads to adhered the trimmed stamp image and the trimmed Square Scallop greeting. There you have my take on this week’s Challenge, I hope it shows how much I love Paris.
