This week at The Play Date Cafe they have a colour challenge. I started with a base card made of Whisper White cardstock, since I don’t have any off-white cardstock. I hope that the slight variation is okay. I then trimmed a piece light blue flowered scrapbook paper so that it was slightly smaller than the face of the base card. I then stamped a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is slightly smaller the blue flowered scrapbook paper. I stamped this cardstock with one of the stamps from the Vintage Vogue stamp set, using Baja Breeze ink. I also stamped one large flower and one small flower, from the same stamp set, which I put to one side. Using the Cuttlebug embossing folder Birds and Swirls, I embossed a piece of Sage Shadow cardstock, which I trimmed to make two separate pieces, one for the top left of the card and one for the lower right of the card. Using the flowers I had stamped earlier, I trimmed the flowers and punched a hole in the centre of the flowers, as well as through the large piece of embossed Sage Shadow cardstock. I joined the flowers and cardstock together with a pearl brad and adhered to the base card. To finish off, I used one of the sentiments from the Sincere Salutations stamp set and Baja Breeze ink. I punched out the sentiment using the large oval punch and then punched out a scallop oval, using a scrap piece of embossed sage shadow. I adhered the ovals to the base card using foam pads.
