For this post I have combined two challenges into one. I have used the colours for my scrapbook page from the Stampin Royalty Challenge #14 and the theme from the StampAmemory Challenge. StampAmemory have asked for a baby layout using non traditional baby colours. I know I have already created a layout for the StampAmemory challenge earlier in the week, but I thought these colours from the Stampin Royalty challenge would work so nicely, so I made another page. Making another page also means that I get a chance to scrap some of the wonderful baby photos that I have lying around. For this challenge I started with a piece of 12 x 12 textured Taken with Teal cardstock. I punched a scallop border from a piece of Washington Apple DSP using the Scallop Border Punch and adhered it to the left of the base cardstock. I then applied a photo of Erik the day he was born. With the photo I modified it so that it printed out in black and white and I reduced the sharpness on the edges of the photo. I placed the photo in the left hand corner then applied So Saffron ribbon. The rouched ribbon is created using a piece of sticky strip. Then length is determined by how long you want the rouched ribbon to appear on the page. Then you just manoeuvre the ribbon so that it rouches up and the sticky strip keeps the ribbon in place. I stamped out some flowers from the Eastern Bloom stamp set using Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, and Taken with Teal Ink, and trimmed using my paper scissors. I inserted brads into the centre of the flowers and I placed the flowers in the bottom right corner of the photo and underneath the ribbon. I stamped the sentiment ” Each day provides its own gifts” from the Artfully Asian stamp set, using Whisper White cardstock and Taken with Teal ink. I placed a piece of So Saffron cardstock behind the sentiment and adhered it to the Taken with Teal cardstock.
Each day I have with my children is a gift. I know that they can be annoying and that they fight and yell and make mess, but my life would not be the same without them.
