This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink, is to make anything you like, using anything you like! Now that may sound easy, but it can be hard when you have so many things going on in your head and you need to be focused. I chose a fan design for this Challenge as I had seen a fan on Kimmy’s website. I couldn’t use the same technique as Kimmy because I did not have a bamboo fan. I chose a Victorian Fan design and cut out 8 blades for the fan. Which I then sponged using Pink Pirouette and I adhered lace to the upper part of each blades. Once all the blades had lace attached I used the cropadile to punch a small hole through the base of the 8 blades. I inserted some ribbon through the hole to keep the blades together. I turned the fan upside down and evenly spaced the blades apart and attached a piece ribbon to each of the blades going from right to left. This means you can open and close the fan, as the ribbon will make sure you can’t open it too far and that the blades open evenly. I then attached a bow to the ribbon and threaded two burgundy coloured beads on to the ribbon and tied a knot at the end. I used cardstock that was a little thicker than Whisper White, but it still is a bit flimsy. If you want to make it sturdy then it is best to use heavy cardstock. You can also decorate the blades however you wish, I chose lace as it looks delicate. Lastly I added Happy Birthday sticker. I am sorry if it is not very clear in the photo, but it is a bit hard trying to find a background that will pick-up the details of the fan.
