Unfortunately I missed last weeks challenge, I had in mind to do a card using my Paris stamp set but I have been side tracked making other cards and ran out of time. I am very happy with this weeks Challenge, as it has helped me make my brother’s card for his birthday on Tuesday. I wanted to use the SU ‘Wanted’ set, but I was trying to think of a different way to use it and this sketch helps me do that. I started with a base card of chocolate chip and I then adhered some black cardstock to the base card. The black cardstock is 1/2 cm smaller than the front of the base card. I then stamped the medallion looking stamp from the SU Wanted set using Really Rust on textured cream cardstock. I had partially stamped the image on some tissue before stamping it on the textured cream cardstock. This was to make sure that the image was not going to be too dark for the horse image that I was going to stamp over the top, using Chocolate Chip Ink. I then stamped the birthday greeting from the SU set Happy Moments. I do have to say, that when I first got the Happy Moments set I wondered when I would use the greeting as I thought it was too small, but I seem to have used it a lot lately on my cards. 🙂 Next, I used a sponge dauber to ink the edges of the textured cream cardstock with chocolate chip (You cant see it very well in the photo). I then used my VersaMark to stamp the stars, flower type and paisley stamps from the Wanted stamp set on the black cardstock and some pieces of chocolate chip that I was going to use at backing for the horse image and the three boxes at the bottom of the card. Using Really Rust, I stamped 3 stars, the 2 smaller stars I punched out with a small star punch and the slightly large star I cut out by hand. I adhered the cream cardstock to the chocolate chip backing and then attached to the black cardstock. Followed by attaching the stars to the three boxes and then attaching them to the black cardstock. There you have the card for my brother. Thank you Taylor for motivating me to make his card. 🙂
