The Play Date Cafe have a new colour Challenge on this week. They are asking for something made with the colours blue, red and Kraft. The blue I used is darker, because I picked a DSP that had blue and kraft colours in it and the red is a little deeper, but hopefully it is okay. I started with a Whisper White base card. I then embossed a piece of Not Quiet Navy cardstock with the embossing folder Devine Swirl. I then trimmed a piece of Bella Bleu DSP to layer on top of the embossed Not Quiet Navy. I then punched 4 scallop squares using the SU square scallop punch. I trimmed the edges of the square scallops to reduce the overlap. Unfortunately on one of the 4 squares I trimmed one side a little too much, and as it was my last piece of Not Quiet Navy, I had to cut one of the scallops from the scraps so that I could put into the gap :(. I then adhered a piece of Whisper White Cardstock over the scallop squares. You don’t notice the problem with the scallop border that much on the card, but you do in the photo. I stamped a birthday greeting from the SU Happy Moments set using Riding Hood Red Ink. I then stamped a the large daisy from the SU Looks Like Spring stampset also using the Riding Hood Red ink. I trimmed the flower and adhered over the birthday greeting. There you have my take on this challenge.
