Makeesha has an inspiration challenge this week using the picture displayed above. I decided to give the Challenge ago, but maybe the card I made is not as sophisticated as others made for this Challenge. This could be because I chose not to use black in the card and I focused on the flowers and used lighter colours. I still thought it was fun trying to come up with something for this Challenge and I think that you should give it ago, if you havent already. I started with a base card made from Almost Amethyst. I scored the card on the top and bottom to make a section where I was going to place the embossed cardstock. I then embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the embossing folder Victoria. I adhered the embossed side down (this means that I stuck the raised side of the embossing down) between the scored lines. I then stamped some flowers from the SU Look Like Spring stampset, using So Saffron, Kiwi Kiss and Orchid Opulence. I punched out the smaller flowers using the SU Spring Bouquet punch and I cut out the larger flower by hand. I randomly adhered the flower on the embossed cardstock and then stamped a Birthday Greeting from the Sincere Salutation stampset using the So Saffron ink on piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock. I then punched out the greeting using the Large Oval punch and for the backing of this oval, I punched out a Scallop Oval using Almost Amethyst cardstock. Unfortunately in the photo you can’t really see the scored lines and I think that is partly because the embossed cardstock is very close to the lines and it is hard to distinguish in the photo.
