On the Cuttlebug Challenge website they have a Challenge that is asking crafters what does Spring make you think of, because the members have been waiting for Spring for such a long time. As I live in Australia, we are now coming into Autumn days where our days are now getting shorter, but the temperature is still mild. It also means that we are coming to an end of a strange summer season, with rain, hail, hot humid days, hot dry days, windy weather and some beautiful mild days as well. With Spring, it reminds me of beautiful fresh sunny days with a nice cool breeze, and the beginning of lighter days and the sounds of birds chirping in the morning sun. For this Challenge I chose to make a Birthday Card with Spring flowers, but I kept the design simple as it reminds me of the crisp fresh mornings of spring. I started with a base card in Whisper White cardstock, which I scored on the front of the card 3 times to divide up the card into sections where I was going to put the embossed card stock and the row of stamped flowers. I then embossed a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the Swiss Dot embossing folder and placed into the centre of the largest scored sections on the front of the card. I then stamped the daisy flower from the SU Looks Like Spring stampset, using the ink colours So Saffron and Regal Rose. I stamped the daisy 5 times and then punch the daisies out using the SU Spring Bouquet Punch. I adhered the 5 flowers into the middle of the two scoring lines that I made at the bottom of the card. I finished off the card by stamping a birthday sentiment on Whisper White cardstock using the SU Sincere Salutation stamp set and the ink colour Regal Rose, which I then trimmed and adhered into the middle of the embossed section on the front of the card.
