Chantelle is hosting this weeks Inkspiration Colour Challenge #19. I was a little daunted as to how I was going to do this challenge as I dont have any Regal Rose or Taken with Teal cardstock. Then I remembered the Birdhouse that I had seen on Amy Water’s website earlier this morning. The pattern for the Bird House is from Nicole Heady. I thought the birdhouse was so cute. The pattern is easy to follow, especially if you print it on to the cardstock you are using. In my case, an A4 piece of Whisper White cardstock. After I had cut out the pattern and scored the scoring lines, I stamped the front and back of the birdhouse with one of the stamps from the Boho Backgrounds stamp set, using Regal Rose and Taken with Teal ink. I punched out the hole using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and sticky stripped the birdhouse together. With the roof, I used Chocolate Chip cardstock that I scored every 1″, both long ways and side ways, just to give the roof a little definition (unfortunately you dont really see it in the photo). I then used the scallop stamp from Eggcoutrement stamp set, using Regal Rose Ink to make some edging for the side of the roof, which I then punched with the Scallop Border Punch and trimmed. I adhered the roof to the Birdhouse, but if you follow Amy’s instructions she tied the roof on, to make it easier to get the contents out of the birdhouse. I then stamped a bird from the Wild About You set and placed it on the front of the birdhouse using foam pads. I followed this with stamping 3 flowers from the Organic Grace set using Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip Ink. I trimmed around the flowers and placed then randomly on the front of the birdhouse using foam pads. I hope you like my take on this challenge.
