This week Stampin’ Royalty is doing a GREEN Challenge! This is because St. Patrick’s Day is next week. They are asking that you use Only Green(s) and that it’s okay to use neutral colours to balance out all the Greens.
For this Challenge I decided to make a box. I learnt how to make this box last Christmas. The base of the box is in Old Olive Cardstock. The measurements are 7 ½” square, that I scored on each side at 2 ½”. The top is made from my last piece of Ski Slope DSP that I have. Cut the 2 score lines at the top and bottom until it meets the other score line going the other way Luckily I had just enough DSP to make the top, the bow and trim for the box. The top of the box is 4 5/8” square that is scored at 1” each side. The Trim for the top is 1” wide and 12” long. I used the eyelet border punch along the edge of the trim. I then used snail tape, to join the box base together and to join the box lid together. I then adhered the trim to the finished box lid, note that there will be a little bit of an over lap with the trim.
To make the bow I cut 8 strips of 4” x ½”, 4 strips of 3 ¼” x ½ “ and 1 strip 3” x ¾”. To make the bow, twist each strip to form a loop and use a glue dot to bring the ends together. Layer 4 large loops at the bottom to form a star. Then layer the next 4 large loops on top of the bottom layer. Then layer the 4 small loops on top of those two layers and finish off placing the flattened circle loop in the centre. The flattened circle was made with the last strip where you put the ends together to make a circle and then flattened slightly. Then adhere the Bow to the top of the completed Box.
