On Friday after work I had notification from Ros Davidson that I had won the Art with Heart team blog hop. I am so excited to see what I what I have won, since I have never won blog candy before. I like the idea of these new bloghops that are happening lately, because it allows me to visit websites that I may not have visited before and I get inspiration from the different ideas I see. On Saturday I continued with my luck. Claire Daly is my Stampin Up demonstrator and I went to pick up my Saleabration order and I was also the hostess for the Marker Club that Claire was running, so I had lots of goodies to pickup :). Claire was also very kind to give me a small thank you gift of some sample cardstock, sample DSP and sample Ribbon. I am so happy that she did, because some of the designer series paper sample she gave was Candy Lane. I have seen the paper in the catalogue and it didnt interest me very much, but now I have change my mind. I used the paper to recover some notepads that I bought from the Reject Shop.
I bought 4 for $2.50 (I think). They were Hot Pink in colour. On two, I recovered the front page with Candy Lane DSP and attached a real red punched scallop, with a whisper white punched circle. Then I used a sticker in the centre of the punched circle. For Deanna I used a heart and for Alexandra I used a heart fairywand. With the other two notepads I completely removed the Hot Pink front and back covers. I replaced the covers with new covers made from Baja Breeze cardstock. The front covers were then covered with Windsor Knot DSP. On Erik’s I made a series of circles from different cardstock with the Circle Scissor Plus and on the last circle I stamped a house and roof from the Saleabration Good Neighbours set. On Rob’s notepad I used the curly label punch and stamped a lion from the Wild About You set. I think that they look much better now that when I bought them. I got the idea for this from a blog hop, when I visited Felicity Fernandez website. My notepads are a simple take on that idea.
