Just Add Ink #95

This is my second post for today which is surprising since for the last few weeks I have been busy making Christmas cards and decorations for my home and havent had much time to blog. Anyway, this post is for the Just Add Ink - Bah Humbug Challenge.

For this Challenge I made 2 Christmas Tags and a Petal Cone Christmas Tree.

For the Tags, I used the Two Tags die, Very Vanilla cardstock, Jolly Holiday DSP and some ribbon. For the images I used the Owl Punch and the Stocking Punch, the Stitched Stocking stampset and the To and From is from one of the stamps from the Gifted stamp set.

Stamps: Gifted Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Jolly Holiday DSP, Whisper White (for the eyes and pom-pom on hat), Chocolate Chip (for the eyes) Ink: Chocolate Chip Accessories: Owl Punch, Butterfly Punch, Large Oval Punch, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, 1/2 ” Circle Punch, Scallop Oval Punch.

Stamps: Gifted, Stitched Stocking Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Jolly Holiday DSP, Whisper White (for the eyes), Black (for the eyes), Early Espresso(for antlers) Ink: Cherry Cobbler Accessories: Stocking Punch, Snowflake Die, Owl Punch (for eyes), Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/2 ” Circle Punch, clear red circle for nose, Dazzling Diamonds.

For the Petal Cone Christmas Tree I used the Petal Cone die to cut two panels for the cone. To make the layers for the tree, I trimmed Scallop Circles which I daubered with Old Olive. For the tree trunk I used Early Espresso cardstock which I daubered with Cherry Cobbler ink. To finish off the tree I added the bird from the Merry Details die. On the back of the cone, I used the Owl Punch with the Butterfly Punch, Large oval Punch and the Scallop circle Punch to make the elf owl.

Clean and Simple # 168

It has been a while since I last blogged and I thought I would participate in this weeks Clean and Simple’s sketch challenge.

For this challenge, I started with a base card made from Pacific Point cardstock, 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″. I then added a layer of brushed silver metallic paper that was 1/4″ smaller than the base card. Next, I added a layer of Bashful Blue cardstock that was 1/4″ smaller than the brushed silver paper. I then trimmed a piece of Whisper White cardstock to be the same width as the Bashful Blue cardstock, but not the same length. I then tore the cardstock. Using a glue pen, I added glue along the torn edge of the cardstock and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. I also added some extra glue to make extra snow drifts on the torn cardstock, again using the Dazzling Diamonds. I then used a snowflake die to cut a snowflake using Whisper White cardstock. Using one of my Merry Christmas gold stickers, I added a sentiment to the centre of the snowflake. I then adhered the snowflake to the base card.

Just Add Ink Challenge # 89

This week, Just Add Ink have an inspiration challenge. I used the challenge to make a telescoping circles card for my husband’s niece. I have seen a few of these cards on the internet a few months ago and I have been meaning to make one and I thought it would go nicely with my new beautiful wings embosslit die. I started with the Scallop Circle die to cut out a black scallop circle. With the Scissor Circle plus, I cut out two 3 1/2″ Whisper White Circles, one 3″ Pumpkin Pie Circle and then one 2 1/2″ Whisper White circle. I decorated the circles and joined them using red brads. Remember that with the centre circle, if you have images or writing, it needs to be upside down if you want it to be right side open when the card is open.

Christmas Decorations

For this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge, Just Add a die cut, I decided to use the Scallop Circle die to make Christmas Decorations, which I am going to use for gift vouchers. The idea comes from a You Tube clip that I viewed made by Angie Kennedy Juda . I cut out 2 Cherry Cobbler , 2 Lucky Limeade and 2 Night of Navy scallop circles and then I used the Scissor Circle Plus to cut out 2 Very Vanilla 4″ Circles and 1 Whisper White 4″ Circle. With the 6 Scallop Circles, I put 3 aside and the other 3, I cut in half to make voucher pockets to put behind the Scallop Circles. I then decorated the 4″ circles and before adhering the circles to the base scallop circles, I attached some ribbon in between so I can hang the decorations. I am going to use these decorations for my children.

Christmas With All the Trimmings

I decided to combine this weeks Clean and Simple sketch and Just Add Ink’s colour Challenge.

I thought the two would work well with my new Stocking Punch and Stitched Stocking stamp set. I started with a base card made from Pool Party cardstock. I then added a layer of embossed Whisper White cardstock, followed by a strip of Pool Party cardstock. I then added a layer of Whisper White Cardstock that had a piece of Scalloped Trimmed Pool Party adhered to the bottom. I then added a strip of Calypso Coral. Next, I stamped three stocking which I punched out and then I punched out a Pool Party, Whisper White and Crumb Cake Stockings. I adhered the tops of the stocking to the stamped stocking and the toe and heel to the Calypso Coral stocking. I added the stocking to the card using foam pads. I then added the stamped sentiment from Contempo Christmas, mounted on a piece of Pool Party cardstock. To finish off the card, I added a border, which I should have done before I stuck everything down, since it’s a bit wonky. Now its a bit rustic.

This week the Play Date Cafe have a colour challenge that I couldnt resist. I have been waiting to use my new Wisteria Wonder cardstock that I bought the other week.

Stamps: Happy Moments (retired), Tilda with Kitten
Paper: Whisper White , Wisteria Wonder, Very Vanilla
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Basic Grey, Blush Blossom, More Mustard, Barely Banana
Accessories: Boho Blossoms, Butterfly Punch, Victoria embossing folder, Spellbinder Fleur de Lis die, Little Leaves die, Itty Bitty flower punch, I heart hearts punch, Owl Punch (for small heart), light purple satin ribbon

I started with a base card made from Wisteria Wonder cardstock. I added an embossed layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, to which I adhered a purple ribbon. I then added the Fleur De Lis circle, punched flowers and butterflies. For the centre of the butterflies I used the small punched out ovals from the Fleur De Lis circle. I then adhered the Little Leaves to the Fleur De Lis circle and the Tilda with Kitten, which I had coloured using ink and a blender pen. At the bottom of the circle I added four Itty Bitty flower and seven small circles to the outer edge that I had punched out with the cropadile. I finished off the card by adding the Birthday sentiment from the Happy Moments stamp set and mounting Whisper White hearts with Very Vanilla hearts in the centre to either side of the sentiment.

A Baby Card

I decided to combine this weeks Just Add Ink’s theme challenge, Just Add Baby and Clean and Simple’s sketch challenge. I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock, to which I added an embossed piece of Whisper White cardstock, followed by a strip of Wisteria Wonder. I then stamped the welcome baby from the Punch Bunch stamp set (retired). To make the tags, I trimmed around the stamped image and then adhered it to some Wisteria Wonder cardstock. I then made a panel out of Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder cardstock to which I mounted the letter B panel and the Welcome baby tag. I then stamped some images from the Itty Bitty Bits stampset and punched them out with the Itty Bitty Circle Punch. I finished off by adhering the images with foam pads and added some Itty Bitty circle buttons to Wisteria Wonder strip.

This card is for Susannah. I promised Susannah last week that I would blog again but I didn’t get time and I thought I better do it this week as I dislike breaking promises.

For this card, I used the colour challenge from Stampin Royalty and the Sketch from Clean and Simple. Both websites are great places to find some inspirations. I started with a base card made from Concord Crush. Before adding a layer of Pear Pizzaz In Color DSP pack (I substituted Pear Pizzaz for Certainly Celery as I had run out of cardstock), I trimmed a small strip from the front right side of the card. Next came another piece of Concord Crush followed by a reverse piece of Pear Pizzaz In Color DSP (retired). I added a strip of Whisper White cardstock and Tangerine Tango cardstock. I stamped thank you from the Happy Moments stamp set (retired). I then stamped two flowers and two leaves, which I trimmed with paper snips. I adhered the leaves to the base card and then joined the two flowers with a green ice brad. Once joined, I adhered the flower to the base card with a foam pad. Just Add Ink #84

This week Just Add Ink have an interesting colour challenge. Use white and one other colour. For this challenge I decided to use Spring as my inspiration and I used So Saffron as my other colour choice.

Stamps: For You Flower
Paper: Whisper White, Apricot Appeal , Washington Apple DSP (retired)
Ink: So Saffron
Accessories: Fancy Flower Punch, Itty Bitty Circle Punch, Paper Piercer, Paper Piercing Mat, Paper Piercing template, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch.

I started with a base card made from Whisper White cardstock and then added a layer of Washington Apple DSP (retired). Using a paper piercer, paper-piercing template and mat, I pierced holes around a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I adhered the pierced Whisper White cardstock to the base card. Using So Saffron ink, I then stamped the For You Flower(retired) stamp twice. I punched the first flower with the Fancy Flower punch and for the second, I punched out the centre of the flower using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Before adhering the punched out centre to the flower, I pierced the largest ‘you’ word. I then stamped a sentiment from the So Happy For You stamp set (retired) and punched out three Itty Bitty circles from a piece of scrap Washington Apple DSP. To finish off the card I added a thin strip of cardstock. I think the strip might be Apricot Appeal (retired) and not So Saffron as I first thought.

Just Add Ink # 80

Just Add Ink have a Sketch Challenge this week. When I first looked at the sketch it reminded me of a cabinet and I used this idea as my theme for my card.

Stamps: Well Scripted
Paper: Basic Black, Regal Rose, Holiday Treasures DSP (retired)
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Large Scallop Oval Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Owl Punch for small circles, Itty Bitty Flower Punch, Red Pearls, Fleur De Lys die, thin black elastic and foam pads.

I started with a piece of black cardstock that was 29cm x 12cm. I scored the card at 11cm and 25.5 cm mark. I used the Decorative Label Punch for the middle of the larger section of the card to form the legs of the cabinet. On the smaller section, I used the Large Scallop Oval Punch. I then added layers of Regal Rose cardstock and Holiday Treasure DSP. I made two black frames to lay over the Holiday Treasure DSP, so as to highlight the doors. I then added black itty bitty flowers with red pearls in the centre. To make the handles, I used two fleur de lys to which I added red pearls and foam pad to raise them. Inside the card I added the birthday sentiment from the Well Scripted stamp set and some more Itty Bitty Flowers.
